Action from Jan. 2023 CBN Open

It was very unfortunate that we had to postpone the Eastern Open(Glovertown) scheduled for January 13, 2024 however the next tournament is only a few weeks away.

The Conception Bay North Open is set for February 10, 2024 in Carbonear. It will undoubtedly be an excellent day of table tennis action as the race to earn points to qualify for Team NL heats up, so why not head on over to the Registration Page where tournament details and registration info can be found. Last season's CBN Open had just over 30 participants, lets see if we can surpass that total this time around! Look forward to seeing you there.

Just a friendly reminder that the NL Closed is scheduled for March 30, 2024 at the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre in Paradise. Stay tuned for details as the tournament date approaches.

Back in the day, well before this thing called the internet, information was not as easy find. To this end, some members of the NLTTA produced a newsletter that was mailed out(we are not talking e-mail here folks, good old fashioned paper, envelope and stamps) to members to keep everyone informed about tournaments, events, current ratings and table tennis happenings around the province.

Two members that were instrumental in this undertaking were Alan Cornish and his wife Ruth, who strived to produce a monthly newsletter. Here are two newsletters that were produced by Alan and his wife more than 40 years ago.

Please note that the documents are in PDF format and will be downloaded to your device and then you can open the document.

The NLTTA would like to thank Harrison Lamswood for supplying the info. It is hoped that we will be able to obtain others like this. If you or someone you know have other papers like this please feel free to pass them along to us and we will do our best to make them available to all. You can scan them and email to the email address webmaster@nltta.com or if you attend the Paradise Table Tennis Club on Mondays pass them along to Bob Hendricks. The website now features an Archives page(located under the About Us menu) that has links to the above documents and hopefully the collection of items will continue to grow. We hope that you enjoy this little nugget.
