The training sessions are geared towards junior players eyeing a spot on Team NL at the 2027 Canada Winter Games. For more info on the sessions contact Jeremy at jnlehr@mun.ca

Female Table Tennis Camp
Following the National Junior Table Tennis Championships held in late July, Table Tennis Canada offered a training camp specifically tailored towards girls between the ages of 10-18. Newfoundland and Labrador had 3 of our Province’s high level junior players travel to Quebec to participate in a 4 day long female table tennis camp put off by Table Tennis Canada’s gender equity committee! A big shout out to rising table tennis athletes Divine Aseo, Courtney Aseo and Tamarah Eyada.
There were 21 feverish and enthusiastic table tennis players from 8 provinces and territories who headed to the pretty city of Québec City to the facilities of the Chops club in Quebec City which will welcome our brave table tennis players. The seasoned team of coaches were led by well known coach Mariann Domonkos, assisted by Julia Charbonneau. Young coaches Ivy Liao, Joyce Xu and Phuong Nguyen assisted as well with Karine Dumontier completing the management team. No doubt the girls benefitted immensely from the four day camp which included training, workshops and of course some downtime visiting Quebec City. We are sure that they will be able to benefit from the experience of these 2 experienced coaches. Karine Dumontier completes the management team.
When it was over Divine commented that the, “Girls training camp was a success and fun, we learned a lot of new things such as timing, relaxation and looking out for other players and just being supportive to each other. We also learned to appreciate the coaches and the people who made this camp possible and the patience they have to all the players. The activities were great and everyone enjoyed it, well me personally I enjoyed every single one of them and every drill we did in the camp helped a lot for controlling the ball and moving our feet too”
